Gippsland food forest was conceived as a 'survival block' in 2006. It's aim was to grow as great a variety of warm-temperate fruit and nut trees as possible, organically & with minimal external inputs. The first tree - a walnut tree - was planted in 2007.
We now have 500 thriving organically grown, productive trees, including avocado, citrus, pomme, stone, macadamia, walnut , chestnut, and many other food-producing trees.
All produce is sold locally, to the Coal Creek Food Hub, Paddlewheel, Leongatha health Food shop, Dawn's Light, Aherns Fruit market, The Meeniyan Store and local Farmers markets.
Walnut Cottage was opened as a self-contained B&B Farm Stay in May 2016. It is a great pleasure to share our property, produce and experience.
Our base rate for Walnut Cottage is currently a very reasonable $175.00 per night for two guests.
